Conclusions

After interviewing Mr. Kartick Patel, owner/manager of seven Subway franchises, our team began to analyze Subway informational systems and how it’s management affects the restaurant operations. We came to the conclusion that there must an update in the Subway POS system that will allow regional headquarters to connect closely with their restaurants to easily change products prices and promotions. This action will allow employees to run much smoother business transaction with very little user interference in the overwhelmed of on-site changes. Mr. Kartick agreed with our suggestion and said that the department of information technology has already begun to take steps to improve the inconsistencies with Scoresby interactive and move into a new software that will allow such connections. Scoresby interactive is a multinational company that generates Informational Databases for franchise companies such as Wendi’s, McDonalds and many more. We also recommended Subway to slowly integrate a new security application that will strengthen the blockage of employees from accessing manager’s databases. The security application should be fully functional and able to use the technology of finger print or id card swipe to access general information to the business financial information.

Besides updating the systems simultaneously and slowly integrating a new security application, Subway should move with the competition and update their menu boards to a technology display. By doing so, Subway will be able to put into use the new software and have the prices and promotion displayed in a formal matter then a blackboard. Since Subway was first in its industry to globalize its brands to 111 countries, the company can continue to different themselves from the competition. As Subway continues to improve their products, service, and organization year after year their future plans in the information system management can allow them to remain the leader in its industry.
